KAFA (“KAFA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) values our supporters and other persons we interact with (“you” or “your”) and respects your privacy. Protecting your information is our utmost importance. Accordingly, we have provided this Privacy Policy to let you know how we will handle the information entrusted to us when you visit https://kafa.org.lb/ and any other online site or application that links to this Privacy Policy (collectively the “Services”).

 

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

 

We collect or receive the following types of information / data when you use our services whether through KAFA website or App:

 

You may provide information directly to us in several different ways (directly or indirectly by users through Live chat, telephone call, fax, sms or emails), when you register/sign up to our App, or create a profile or make changes to your profile in one of our mobile Apps, we collect your contact information, including your first and last name, age, gender, email address, country of residence, geographical location and different types of media files and any other information.

 

We automatically collect certain information about you and your computer / laptop / tablet / smart phone or any other electronic device when you use our services, which may include: the type of web browser and operating system you have used to access the services; Your IP address (a number automatically assigned to your computer when you access the Internet and can be used to obtain your general geographic location); And information about the content you view and the features you access on the services that we collect using cookies and related technologies.

 

LOCATE AND SHARE LOCATION

 

Once you activate the location service on your mobile App, this service allows KAFA application to determine your location (longitude and latitude) so that we can connect with you, respond promptly and in a practical way, provide assistance and intervene quickly in the event of communication interruption or in emergency cases.

 

USE OF INFORMATION & SHARING INFORMATION

 

We use the information we collect and receive for the following general purposes:

 

To produce reports (for example, but not limited to: reports on the forms and nature of violence against women, on the location of violence, its size and rates, on the social status of battered women and the most vulnerable...) that we may publish on KAFA website in order to raise awareness and enhance research and capabilities necessary to evaluate interventions aimed at preventing violence against women and countering it;

 

To create a database on the extent and nature of violence against women in different places, in order to document the practices of this violence and assess its rates and consequences.

 

To constantly improve the response in providing support and enhance your trust with KAFA;

 

To better understand your interests or your problem in order to provide you with relevant adequate support, advices or services;

 

To respond to your requests, questions, and comments;

 

We also undertake to maintain the confidentiality of personal information such as identity, name and phone number. We also must clarify that data collection and reports help us in our petition campaigns by highlighting the extent and types of violence perpetrated against women in an effort to pass protective and deterrent laws, and that we do not share any personal information with third parties except when required by law or by a judicial order.

 

THIRD-PARTY FUNCTIONALITY AND SITES

 

Some of the functionality on the Services may be provided by third parties that are not associated with KAFA. These entities, including Google and Google Ads, may collect or receive certain information about your use of the Services, including through the use of cookies and similar technologies. KAFA is not responsible for the privacy practices of these entities, hence, we recommend you review their policies. Moreover, when you select a link to a third-party site from KAFA website, you will be leaving KAFA website. Any information that you disclose on the third-party site will be governed by that site’s privacy policy.

 

PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

 

We use reasonable technical, and administrative measures to safeguard information in our custody against theft, loss, hackers and unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification. However, no data transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we do our best to protect the information we maintain, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you communicate to us.

 

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

 

From time to time, we may amend this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the scope of the Services or for other reasons. Therefore, it is important to check the effective date of the Privacy Policy posted here at each time you use our Services. By continuing to use the Services after we make changes, you irrevocably provide your consent to those changes.

 

APPLE TERMS OF SERVICE

 

You acknowledge and agree that these Terms are a binding agreement between you and KAFA, and which KAFA is required to pass onto you by Apple:

 

(a) these Terms are between you and KAFA only, and not with Apple, and KAFA is solely responsible for the iOS Apps and the content thereof;

 

(b) there are additional usage rules for the iOS Apps by Apple, which are subject to additional restrictions set forth in the App Store Terms of Service (the “Usage Rules”) and you will comply with such Usage Rules;

 

(c) Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the iOS Apps;

 

(d) to the extent permitted by law, Apple shall have no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the IOS Apps or any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure of the iOS Apps;

 

(e) KAFA, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims that you may have or any third party relating to the iOS Apps, your possession and/or use of the iOS App, including but not limited to:

(i) product liability claims;

(ii) any claim that the Software fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement;

(iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation; and

(iv) claims that the iOS Apps infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights;

 

(f) Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third party beneficiary thereof).
